Open MRI
550 lb capacity. Open on all sides. No tube.
If a traditional MRI made you panic, or if you were told you couldn't fit, this is different.
The difference
What's different about an open MRI.
A traditional MRI slides you into a narrow cylinder. You're enclosed on all sides. The ceiling is inches from your face. For a lot of people, that's the end of the conversation. They'd rather skip the scan entirely.
Our machine is open. There's no tunnel overhead. You lie on a table and the magnet is beside you, not wrapped around you. You can see the room. You can breathe.
The image quality is diagnostic-grade. Your doctor gets what they need. You just don't have to white-knuckle it to get there.
Who this is for
Good candidates for an open MRI.
- People with claustrophobia who have avoided or panicked during a traditional MRI
- Patients who weigh more than a standard MRI's limit (our capacity is 550 lbs)
- Elderly patients or children who would struggle to stay still inside an enclosed tube
- Anyone with mobility concerns that make it hard to maneuver into a tight space
